Not a cute or clever comment, but just a sincere appreciation of the time, work, and highly original thought that goes into each and every one of these delightful columns. Thank you!
Tash!!! I’ve been meaning to let you know just how much the zines meant to me. I have read each copy multiple times. They are such works of community and heart.
As a parent of millennials who rotated the furniture and art around for 30 years curating our family home, and outfitting it with uncomfortable mcm finds, I so appreciate the grace you offer your “playful” parents. Even if you didn’t inherit their aesthetic you sure got their passion for creating warm and memorable spaces. #jenniferconvertibles 🤣
I, too, would like to live in the prettiest apartment and look out at the ugliest.
“Mom, we don’t have to live like this…” line! Now you can decorate your place(s) in maximalist boho grandma vintage chic with a dash of euro trash any which way you want.
I think whatever you surround yourself with should make you smile.
Your Sottsass mirror is the home decor equivalent of my regrettable blush pink Dior bar jacket purchase. She’s an aspirational beautiful put together woman who is… absolutely not me at all.
This has me wondering if we’re destined to design our spaces in ways that directly oppose/reject the spaces we grew up in — I posted a piece yesterday about how/why I’m a staunch minimalist, and I grew up in a busy, stuff-filled (but wonderful and loving!) home. Maybe we’re all still teenagers at heart, rebelling against our parents in our adult homes? Even as a minimalist, I adore perusing images of maximalist homes. Yours is spectacular!!
Such a great read 🙌🏼 I lived in the floor above you at 59W, w an interior view & it was so dark & restful & perfect~ the building lured me back a few years later to “4” in your same line ~ w the street view until I finally wrenched myself out of there 3 years ago & moved to LA.
I love your specific memories, & it was definitely a “waft in & out of the building in PJ’s to walk dogs vibe”
Oh! & just remembered I recommended my doxies’ dog trainer -Brian~ to one of your helpers; my boys boddhi & kuma also send their best to Ingrid 😘
The joy of the tangled webs ~ enjoy your summer xo
👏🏼so amazing. I later ended up boarding them w Sal, who worked for Brian, & he’s got a cute boarding biz in ?No. Salem.. he helped us move by flying Boddhi out here after I’d flown his bro, Kuma, w me a week b4.. the Essential Underpinnings of an Animal Person’s existence 🫶🏼
Obsessed, beyond obsessed. Also remind me to tell you about the time I bought a photo of Mel’s color theory specialist hanging with my old shrink off of eBay…

That domino cover tho 😍
Stand by the trench coat!
Producer, writer, model, inspo, muse, AND DECORATOR!? You are truly everything. I wonder how many times I will reread this one.

I still have that issue of domino because I loved how you furnished & decorated your apartment and was inspired by it
Thank you!!! I still have and cherish all those pieces, albeit in new places. @arielokin slayed that.
Was having the time of my life reading about a very important subject to me and then you linked to bed zine! Thank you 🥲 I’m honoured

I’m so glad they resonated with you Lena 💗 that makes me so happy
sending love from my bed to yours
Love it 💛 I never dabbled in interior design at all until i got sick, and now my home has become both my sanctuary and my hobby!
Totally! Being home all the time has made me much more invested in living inside a curated nest full of colourful trinkets

The images in it may send a shiver down your spine 😂
I’m crashing the in-laws house. It’s perfect.
Nobody chicer than Alma and she’d honestly have you any time - visit Ancon and use it as your hotel!

I feel like you would enjoy looking at the Furniture Pimp catalogue, Jim Walrod’s personal archive that was auctioned after his death. He designed Mel’s apartment! https://www.wright20.com/files/media/catalogs/2018/05/furniture-pimp-the-collection-of-jim-walrod/catalog/pdf/Wright_FurniturePimp_3May2018_1523053601.pdf
