Too Much BTS
Hello Pals,
Too Much has been streaming on Netflix for a week and a half. What a joy to send this message in a bottle and see who picks it up and what you send back.
When it comes to TV- the people’s medium!- putting it into the world feels like the final touch, as if it’s a vase thrown on the wheel, carefully glazed but not yet fired, until the audience becomes the kiln (can you tell I went to pottery camp!? My counselor Leslie didn’t shave her legs or armpits and still had a gorgeous boyfriend- and that’s how I found out what feminism is!)
If you’ve watched, we are so thankful. If you haven’t yet and are looking for a rom-com with an acidic soul, I hope you might find it offers you some laughter, some “heck yeah” moments- and mostly, some comfort. As I inch toward forty, comfort means more and more.
Below are some of my favorite behind the scenes moments captured while making the show. My phone is always out on set- to set up shots, rewrite scenes or simply to capture the glorious “let’s put on a play” mayhem of this job.
And sometimes, I even manage to wedge into the picture 🙂↔️
From my camera to your phone, from our brains to your screens, from your lips to God’s ears!
Love,
Lena (and the Too Much Team)

I watched Too Much in just a couple of days. It didn’t bring me any comfort — rather, it left me with a lot of questions, lots of laughs, conversations with friends and strangers, and the desire to write and start a Substack space. So thank you for continuing to be an inspiration after all these years!
Just finished watching for the second time and already can’t wait to start again ❣️ many thanks for bringing Meg to our screens, she is a treasure
